“This class has allowed me to think more about who we are as individuals and how we play a role in such a beautiful cycle of life. What really got me to start thinking and analyzing things is when we got the question how the nothing nothings?”

- Tania Lopez Salas’ Explanation of her Art Project:
“For my final project I am doing an art project, I will be drawing Buddha and Jesus to symbolize the similarities of teaching and stories. For my drawing I plan on making half of the drawing Buddha and the other half Jesus, so will be connecting both bodies through the other. The idea I am getting at is the similarity of the human dilemma they both shared. There are parallels between both religions and at times similar teachings like humanity and pureness of heart. By drawing both images (half and half) I want to portrait how both Eastern and Western religion have similarities and a similar objective. This idea sparks an interest in me because I have found similarities when studying both religions and Buddha and Jesus, one main one is the teaching of treating people how you want to be treated. As I begin my painting I reflect and think about the similarities and will find more ways to incorporate them to my project.”
