Note Card Respones
At the end of each lecture I ask the students to respond to a question in reference to it, on a small piece of paper.
Often times the question would be vague and somewhat puzzling. For example the first response here is answering the question “What do you think about ‘nothing’?
Of course they are not graded on accuracy , more so a form of attendance.
